Thanks to all with your muffler/exhaust opinions.I pulled the trigger on some Monster Ovals and couldn't be more pleased. They delivered today and I installed them as soon as I got home from work.Very nice deep throaty tone and not too loud.I have read about everyones opinions on different brands and was torn between these and Klock Werks. There just wasn't enough input on the Klock Werks and I didn't want to get the Rineharts(sound awesome, but wanted something a little different).I haven't seen too many sets of the M/O at local events. My new 09 Street Glide sounds much better now.I traded in my Deuce recently and am loving the new SG.Radio...cruise.....storage...a much better overall ride.Once again, thanks to all the info on this site.
Totally agree. Love the DEEP sound! Every now and then I start thinking that I wished they were a tad louder. But once I get on the road listening to steady miles going by, they are just right and I think I actually feel less tired at the end of the day than I did after listening to the Rineharts.
The other thing about the MO's is that they sound WAY different to the rider than they do to anyone else, IMHO. I had my buddy take my bike to the bottom of the hill and then run it up through the gears on the county road. Those MO's sound really good and a lot louder from the bystander point of view.
I put them on along with the filter kit and did the stage 1 down load. It seemed to make a difference that I can tell especially when the bike is loaded. Me wife and luggage
Stayed with the 2-1-2 stock headers and purchased the PCV and SE-AC from Fuel Moto. But you may want to think about swapping out the headpipes on the 2010 to lose the Cat and the extra heat that goes with it. Maybe look for some 09 take-offs before everyone realizes they are gold.
I wouldn't do anything until I got a chance to see the new headpipes and "Top Secret" mufflers coming out from Fuel Moto.
i put vance+hines truduals on my 09 egs and they have woken up the monster ovals
when i originally put the mo on i thought they were a little quiet
love the sound now
three monster ovals questions. where did you find the best price on the monster ovals, and are they very heavy, and last, do they reduce your lean angle while going through a curve?
