Hey easyriderPGH,

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics and give us your .02. I've been on the fence about choosing a new windshield and your post gives me a lot of detail and quality info to consider. Great review.

Thanks again!!

PS. Great post for your 1,500th!!

So the longride is even more narrow, meaning it quickly tapers from the side to the top?
The Clearview goes straight up on the sides for about 1 1/2" before turning towards center, while the Long Ride starts it's turn immediately. No difference noticed in wind at all, just depends on which look you prefer. You can see it in the pics.

Check out Windvest shields. I replaced a 9 1/" Clearview with a 10" Windvest with light tint and the difference in wind protection is significant. The Windvest has more recurve and is at least as wide as the OEM at the base. Service was excellent and the quality is great.

Great review!!!!!
++1 on Clearview, John was great finding me a blem (which I can't see at all)
I'm all for more in the game the better....competition makes better products and better prices.
But maybe if LRS and others were as busy as CV....they would be backed up with ship dates too, just a thought.

I may be able to participate in this comparison -- if the CV 10 1/2" ever gets here... I've got the 10" Windvest on the Ultra now, and while it is much better than the stock (wind protection AND ability to see over the top) it is so radical in its "recurve" at the top that it may be disrupting the wind flow, creating a low pressure area just above my head where the buffeting is quite intense. The guys at CV already said they think I'll be happier with their product, as it is "slipperier" and the wind isn't forced to change direction harshly at the top of the windshield. We shall see...

More if / when the CV arrives.....
