Yeah I know I might get beat up for not using the search function but I cant find the answer to my exact question.
I am thinking about changing out my PCIII. Looking into a Thundermax with autotune. Will I see a change in power once the autotune changes the base map? Will my fuel mileage get better? getting around anywhere from 35 to 40 now. Will I feel like it has more power?
I have been using a can map for my bike since I have had it built and a map I got from Jamie at Fuelmoto. Could not really feel a big change in either one.
Just trying to make sense if a dyno tune would be best. It is not that I don't believe in the PCIII I just hate the hard starting that it gives you.
If this is not a good choice what would be the best way? My engine builder flip flops from Racetuner to PCII. Depends on what day.
As always I appreciate all suggestions and answers.

The PC3. race tuner. and thunder max are all very good. But it all depends on the guy who is going to tune it for you. You could have he best motor but if your tuner is not very good it will be a crap motor....

I guess to make a long question short. Will the Thundermax give me dyno results? It just seems like that would be the way to go instead of constantly dyno tuning a motor to achieve the best results.
I would call Jamie and see if he could fix your hard start problem. He might fill you in on some of your questions.
I wish I would have knew about Jamie when I bought my PCIII. I have bought other stuff from him and he has helped me in the past. I have talked to Power Commander and they say to hit the start button as soon as you hit the on button. I am under the impression that is not good to not let the efi pressurize though. It does start better when you do this though.
Ya I to have heard that about hitting the start button early. And was always on the under standing that it was a bad thing. Maybe that go's out the window when you start adding on parts.

Hitting the starter button as soon as the ignition is turned on doesn't hurt a thing. You are not preventing the efi from pressurizing. The only thing that is happening when you are waiting for the light to go out is the bike is running a diagnotic. It will continue to do this when you start the bike. Makes no difference whatsoever, but it will help with your hard start problems.
Everything the bike is doing when you in that first few seconds you turn the ignition on, it will continue to do. Doesn't matter if the bike is running or not while it's doing it.
Your hard starting may have something to do with the duration of the SE255 Cams. That and your CCP will cause hard starts. You may want to look into compresion releases to help you out. I had a PCIII from Jamie. When I did my motor work I purchased a TTS from him. I was able to tune it myself since there was not a good base map for my build. It is a great EFI system. You can adjust your cranking fuel to help your starting problems. Call Jamie and see if it would work for you.
T-Max will always get you close, and your bike will run good, but a dyno tune from a competent wrench will always be better. As far as the gas mileage goes, that depends entirely on your map. My current T-Max map get me about 37 mpg's but it runs pretty good so I'm reluctant to mess with it.
