J&S lets you pivot two metal supports into position, then you lower the bike slightly so the supports take up the weight, then you re-tighten the bottle jack just to be double-sure. No way the bike can come down from bottle leakage.

Default J&S

J&S is made very well using top quality components. I bought one in the spring and I can't believe how much I use it! Customer service at J&S is superior to any vendor I've dealt with over the phone or on the internet! The other jack that is excellent quality is the Pitbull...I've heard great things about that product also. I think you get what you pay for as far as these types of products are concerned.

I wondered the same thing. Its like 170.00 and aluminum. Looks like a good unit on the website. Anyone have one?

I have had my J&S for going on three years and I could not be happier. Their customer service is absolutely top-notch, too. I recently bought a wheel chock from them as well and it works great.

I have the yellow sears jack. I think it is a little shaky. I would never try to move the bike around on the jack. Wish I would have spent the extra money and got the J&S.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I am not ready for a jack yet but when I am the J&S looks pretty good to me.

I have the HF jack. I welded on an extra stop for the locking mechanism so that it is just exactly where my bike sits level. Sometimes, especially when you are working on the left side of the bike, it is easier if the bike is level but not necessary for it to be up in the air. I also still have a easy lift type arm thingie made by my friend 25 years ago that I use when I want one end only up in the air and a real stable bike.
