Turkey baster works great for me if it reaches. If that doesn't work, then just remove the filter, and drain and replace is another way to handle this issue... Then top off if you are low after re-pressurizing...

Yeah, rather not go through the whole filter than again, that was a pain. Used the 2 litler bottle method and the aluminum foil and still made a mess. I am hoping a turkey baster will work or I will have to rig something up.

Why not just remove the bottom drain plug and just drain a bit off. Way less mess then removing the oil filter.

+1 with DMcBiker, if I had to drain some out, I would go to the plug and drain there. I keep mine half way between full and add when the oil is cold.

[quote=ncbeast;5485234]Crap, I just changed my oil for the first time (5000) on my 2008 RG and I filled to the top fill line. It was just a little over 3 1/2 quarts. I rode it down the street afterwards but not very far and then put her back up. So I guess I over filled it but may not got it hot enough to blow out of the air cleaner.

What will be the best way to remove some oil to get the cold level down?

Greg-I've used a small plastic tube and just syphoned some out.

A turkey baster is the easy way to go!

Turkey baster worked great. Pulled out about 4 baster fulls which brought the cold level down to the half way mark.

Thanks for the help!

My brother had a oil change done at the dealer and they overfilled his 09 Ultra. As a result he had oil coming out his air filter. How long can he expected to see the oil seeping from his air filter?
