I was thinking the same thing . Hey Quigly, is your Bigskyfan business a HD Forum site sponsor? Do you have a furum member discount? Thanks!
Its not my business, it belongs to a friend of mine. He was a sponsor but unfortunately the cost of advertising was more then sales would cover. Yes, he is working on offering a manual kit for touring bikes that will use the accessory switch to turn the fans on and off. He still has a forum discount I will PM you the link.

I dont mean to dispute your manual, but using a test light on my buddies bike , Pin 1 is the ign. and Pin 3 is the acc. switch. I wonder if maybe his bike is not wired right?

Who knows. I know that any Harley accessory that uses that plug is a "Plug N Play" set up. They are to be a "No Brainer" to use.
I know that I always check even when the instructions say they are always right. Better safe than sorry.
I know I have found that the Harley wire color Orange is the same year to year. Always switched (Ign.) 12 volts. Black is ground and Red is 12 volts Hot.
