Guys, I am finishing my bike build, like so many of you guys I have a lot of time/money/etc. in this build. I have never had "crash" bars on my bike but am scared that i'm gonna screw up my RWD tank/new stretched bags, etc. Will crash bars save these if I tip the bike over? I'm not worried about a full on crash, just the bike falling over. Thanks
Yes, forward and rears bars on all my bikes.
If yours ever tips, you will be glad you have them.
You can even paint them to match your build if you are anti-chrome.
my couple of tip overs were caught by the footboard not the engine guard. only value i have in the guards is to hold my lower fairings in the cold weather.
All I can say is it saved my buddies brand new 2010 Screamin Eagle SG. Got caught in an awkward position and down it went. When I went to pick it up for him, it scratched the right side saddlebag, and damaged the throttle, but other than that, no damage to chrome.

guards
+1...neccesary evil
proved it recently..t boned from rt side at 40 mph..bike did 1 hi-side and 2 barrel rolls..w/o the crash bars i doubt it would have been repairable...crash bars and fairing got the worst of it , bags were scraped up but no cracks
