I just put the Progressive 1" front lowering kit in my 09 SG last night.

Already lowered the rear 1" a few weeks ago.

Lowering the front put my heels on the ground better than lowering the rear did.

The Streetglide does NOT come lowered in the front. It comes lowered 1" in the back.

I put the lowering kit in my ultra for a 21" front wheel. It lowered it 1" and made a huge difference in my bikes handling.

I lowered the front of my street glide using race tech's lowering springs, gold valve cartridge emulators and heavier fork oil. Even 1" lower the bike rides better than it did stock.

I HIGHLY recommend race tech's products over Harley's and Progressives.. I have used their stuff in almost every bike I have owned and never been unhappy with them.

You can definitely lower the front and it will help. Does not affect handling. Use Progressive lowering kit. Lower 1" (not more). Ride maybe a hair stiffer, but it's barely perceptible.

I lowered the front using Harley's lowering kit. I hated it - took it back off. Bike didn't handle the curves with the same ease as before to me.

I did not feel the ride was more harsh though. For me, the bike seemed harder to back up (I don't have manly strength!) like the front end was heavier after it was lower.

Also, it lowered the front end about 1" but only 1/2" at the seat. I didn't feel the loss of handling was worth the 1/2" gain for me personally.

Another member told me about these boots: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/comm...ZZZ&rfnbr=1963

It says 2" heel but its 3" with the platform. They have non-skid motorcycle surface and over 1" thick soles. Greatest investment I made to get flat footed. I found some for around $45 on e-bay.

I think the lowering impacts women differently than men. Hope this helps.

I showed my wife these boots and she wants to give'em a try - ordered them tonight. Thanks for the idea. She took her new '09 SG out for her first ride this evening and was pretty solid with it....but the boots may make it even better.

I hope she likes them. They really come in handy for me when I stop at pavement that dips on one side. Just a little extra stability. Let me know how they work out.
