Some of you forum members will remember a certain fellow who was a fan of "clampless exhaust".
I have to say maybe he wasn't so wrong...
I just spent the last two hours trying to get the heat shields on my new Bub 7 exhaust....and man the clamps got me frustrated....actually the whole exhaust got me frustrated.
I sure do love riding my SG....but working on HD's is a pain in the but...nothing ever fits properly or lines up. Even my Buell is built better and easier to work on.
OK end of rant....I'll have to wait till tomorrow to finish the exhaust....and hear what it sounds like.
I've changed out my exhaust on two of my touring bikes and it is truely a pain in the rump. But, I have to say that touring Harley's are a lot easier to add accessories to than my other bikes. Most accessories are plug and play (heated seat, stereo upgrades, etc.) My BMW's are much harder to add accessories to. Of course when it comes to working on the motors the Harley gets most all of the attention in that department as the BMW rarely needs any kind of motor work.
Well got the new exhaust on and took the bike to work....I think my ears are still bleeding...and I thought my V&H true duals with Rush slipons was loud. WOW, these things are nuts...maybe not quite as edgy as my Rush...but way louder. I can't get them off the bike fast enough. Maybe the stealth mufflers with the dual headers.
Anybody want to buy next to new BUB 7 2inch mufflers?

I know who you are referring to. Been a long time. I have never had "clampless" exhaust so I have no opinion.
Yeah...I couldnt' help but think of him when I was cursing my heat shields...and thought to myself why can't someone build an exhaust with built in heatshields, and no clamps.

Well now, couldn't decide to get the Bub 7's or the Monster Ovals. I've seen quite a few of you folks putting on the Bubs and immediately taking them off cause they were too loud. Also seen a few M-Ovals dudes wanting something not so loud. Now I'm thinking of the SE's or just leaving it stock.
I put Super Trapp, (maker of SE mufflers) on my EG and love them. They have the turn down ends and are very stereo friendly, in fact the OL doesn't even bitc* about them.
