I've seen the sheepskin seat covers advertised a few places. They kinda look like something a guy would appreciate on a long ride, has anyone used one? Do they "raise" you up any? I'm 6' 3" and getting kinda stiff in the hips in my old age a little extra highth might help and be cheaper than a new "tall boy" seat ln my ultra.
I Have one I bought from Alaska Leather. The whole idea behind these is to keep the motorcyclist cooler in the Summer and warmer in the Winter........and they do the job well. You won't notice any increase in seat height.
I also have one from Alaskan Leather and love it. You will not notice the small change in height but there is also a small change at the width of the seat. I only use mine on rides longer then 3 hours but have used it for 600+ mile days on more than one occassion. Well worth the money.
At first I thought you guys were kidding and I pictured a white sheep skin cover on the seat. I immediately thought "How am I going to get the pom poms to stay on the windshield"? Well after seeing the one on callieblueâs scoot I can see that there might be some advantage to the lack of heat on the seat here in south Texas.
I have the HD ones. My wife loves it especially in the hot sun, keeps the seat from burning her behind. I don't like my part of it. For some reason, it becomes uncomfortable about 20 minutes into the ride. If I was smart enough to cut my piece out of it I would.[:-]
Alaska Leather butt pad here too. BEST $50 I have ever spent on a bike, no more sweating in summer, and here in Dallas, that is nice. Seat hieght increase is not noticeable. If you are looking for comfort and seat height increase, you may try a ROHO Airhawk. It will raise you up .5 - 1 inch.
i have a piece of black sheepskin from new zealand that works great. i found recently that a real leather chamois (under $15) works great too. it stiffens up the seat for near Corbin feel. and it wicks some moisture aware from your butt on a hot day. nothing more uncomfortable than a wet butt.
