Anyone have any experience with the Harley Touring Manuals on a CD versus the hard copy? Is this the identical manual on a CD? Thinking about getting one off of ebay, but don't wnat to waste my money.
I bought one and was very happy. Then I got a good deal on a manual and when I compared I found that the CD did not have every page, I was a little disappointed, however the CD one is great to take on the road with me as I have a tiny PC that I can run it on and combined they are smaller than the manual, so all's good.
I bought mine off ebay, and its the 08 touring Service Manual alright, just not 100% complete, but absolutely chock full of information and photos, I could print out a page and compare it to the factory manual, its actually great for searching and viewing on a PC, but nothing beats holding a manual in your hand.
The digital copy I have is lacking nothing that the paper manual has.
Perhaps it's not as convenient as the paper book for those that don't have a laptop in their shop. It is however an exact digital copy of the original.
As far as the Legality of the copy goes, all pages are watermarked "Digital Technician II - Harley Davidson".
I figured the company paid some type of reseller fee ??
It is being distributed Free all over the Web. as are previous years Serv. Manuals and the 2009 Elec. Diag. Manual.
Don't buy it on flea-bay...check your PMs
