I agree try to park where you can get out easily or back it in so you can drive out.

I'd be careful pushing on the fairing. Something more solid like forks would be better.

Thanks for all the insight guys, I did say occasionally. Sometimes I don't have the option if I want to park with the group I rode in with. Otherwise I use gravity to the fullest when selecting a parking location. Thanks for the useful tips on using the forks, probably a better location than the fairing. If I'm riding alone I won't park in a spot I can't get into or out of.

Talking

Lock the front brake, bring the RPM's up to 4500-5000 and drop the clutch. Let the back end swing around until you are facing the way you want to go. It takes some practice, but it looks cool. Just kidding, look for a good spot for easy in and easy out.

i have seen them push bikes with the engine guards.or put it on the kick stand and slide if your in a garage on a smooth floor ,thats how they move them in tight spaces in the bike shop.

Pushing on the headlight always works and you will not be pushed in one direction or another.

It is very, very rare that I do not back my bike into it's parking spot, whether there is a group of bikers or not. I always back towards a curb.

It is so easy to drive out of a parking space.
