Default street glide or electra glide classic

Hey everyone, I don't know which way to go. They are both the same money for basic bikes. My question is tour pack removable it's the only difference I can pick out. Thanks Bill.

Have you checked out the difference between the SG and RG? I think the Road Glide had better options. ie...fixed farring ( better with cross winds ) speakers wired for tour pack, floor boards for passenger, dashboard glove boxes...etc.

The SG is lower and has the clean, uncluttered look. I ride an 09 SG and love it, but if you are a long distance rider who likes to haul a lot of gear, you'd probably be better off with the EG or RG. You can't make a wrong choice as far as I'm concerned. I wish I could afford one of each. I had an 05 EG Classic a few years ago. Loved the ride but I'm short and old,the bike was too top heavy for me. The SG rides stiffer with the shorter shocks but I can touch the ground. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'd go with the EG Classic because I like the storage.

Default Excellent Topic

I hope to learn more in this thread. This is a decision I am currently trying to make. I currently ride a 07 Heritage. I like the street glide for local rides but want the tour pak for trips.....I looked at them at the stealership this past weekend....Right now I am 60/40 in favor of the Streetglide. Thanks for starting this thread.

EG, get the quick connect for the tour pak (lets you loose the tour pack in minutes), get a low seat (Badlander etc..), upgrade to airide shocks (Arnott, Progressive, etc..). Best of both worlds, a long distance tourer and in under 5 minutes it is a low slung Bagger.

Back in March I was between these 2 choices. The final straw was I took both bikes out of a test ride and that closed the deal.

Classic all the way. Make the tour pack removable and you have the best of both worlds.

I had the exact same experience. I wanted a street glide. Test drove them both and bought the EG. I have never looked back at the choice.
