One of the first things I did with my last Ultra, was change out the speakers and add sound deadening material behind the speakers. For a couple of years I ran them that way. 2 weeks ago while taking a big trip, my speakers started to act up, so I bought a new set and installed them without the sound deadening material behind the speakers (I actually forgot about it). I did notice vibration from the bass now from the speakers in my handlebars. Something I didn't have before with the fiber material. Other then that, they sounded the same.

Waste of money! This stuff is mainly for quieting rattles in cages. If the trunk or doors of your car rattle like hell then use some dynamat. The pissy little 5.25" speakers in the plastic fairing aren't going to do anything that would make this stuff necessary.

I had it put in with my new stereo. I guess it helps, sure can't hurt, and it's cheap.

I thought I needed some, so I bought a set from J&M http://www.jmcorp.com/
It turned out to be nothing more than 1/4" foam. http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....SAP-HDCL&PF=43
For $37 I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. I don't know if it helps or not. It couldn't hurt anything though.

bdp, as far as polyfil, get a pillow at walmart and cut it open, the cheapest polyfill you'll find. one $4.00 pillow should stuff both of the lowers and then some.

I just ordered the big amp (180x2) and Titan XL 6.5 speakers from Biketronics. I asked them about it and they said there tests showed little if any benefit. I may still put something in there as it sure would not hurt any. We shall see. My stuff should be here by Monday.
