I think that would be a very unusual situation - not the norm.

My experience has been that once the new bike deal is done, nobody much cares where the bike was bought when it comes to service or parts, unless there's some kind of special deal offered on the sale contract.

Parts and service departments are totally separate from the sales floor and they have to pay their own way. They want all the business they can get, no matter where it comes from.
