Hard Bag top! O.D. measurement!

Could someone measure the outside top opening on a standard SG hard bag, width/length. I have taken my lid off to repair and need to go to the store today to cut some temporarily vinyl and bungee it around the top of the bag opening before it rains. Thanks!

Just kidding.....mine measures 23 x 8.5 inches. The 23 is at the longest point being the front isn't straight.

hey hogwash, would a good quality trashbag work for you? it might be easier to do that than to try to fabricate something out of plastic that you're going to have to chase down anyway. just a thought, if tight it'd keep the rain out. was this for riding or just to keep the bag from getting wet inside? another option that might be easier and cost nothing would be to remove the bag and store it inside somewhere dry. two twist pins, and it's off.
