The ignition locks on the 06's are junk. There have been numerous threads on this problem. It's about time they did a recall. The dealers have just been fixing them as they break so far.

As long as a few whacks will get it going again I guess it is fine to ride till the recall hits. Would hate to get stranded because of that.
