Bob I don't mean to disagree with ya but on this one it's not HD's fault it's yours, I thought I wanted a Roadglide so I rode one and it wasn't for me, thats why they make so many different models imo, blaming the moco for your mistake will not solve anything and like it has already been said it's a motorcycle for pete's sake, your out in the wind not in the car, I have a ElectraGlide with a 8" windsheild from faistaire and it's perfect for me, sounds like you need to get another bike or just ride the rice, your choice.

I'm 6"3". The 06' Roadie I bought a couple of months ago has a clearview shield, and fairing lowers. No buffeting at 80 mph. I'm lovin' it.

Good grief it's a motorcycle , I'd be ticked off if I wasn't getting some wind on me , that's kinda of the point of riding a motorcycle IMO!

Don't like jumping on a bike and have the wind hit you in the face? Sell it and buy a car.

Bob37,
The Roadie is a great bike once you get it dialed in. I agree that the buffeting was horrible on mine. I was not expecting to have my head being pulled around like a puppet on strings. In my opinion, the Clearview windshield and lowers is going to be your last resort, especially with your height. Shorter riders don't have as much problem. I also believe the problem comes from not having the air neutralized behind the screen. There is a gaping hole in the inner fairing for the forks to have enough room to turn. This tunnels wind up and through the hole. Then this wind is picked up by a vaccum coming from the wind over the windshield. Thus pulling wind from under toward the head. The uplift is reduced by adding lowers. I found that before adding the lowers, that I could push my knees against the fuel tank and eliminate some of the buffeting. I like my RG now, but still have some minor buffeting. I would like to say that I had ridden sport touring bikes for years prior to owning my RG. Most of these bikes had full fairings and had no wind buffeting or noise at all. This spoiled me a little, and when I bought my RG I thought I had made a huge mistake. Take a few deep breaths and study your options. Good luck.

When I rode my 2009 RG home from the dealer after I purchased I had some buffeting with the stock shield. I changed it out with the lowest (8" I think) Klock Werks shield when I got home and no more problems. I like the wind in my face though. I'm going to buy the 12" for winter time.

If you are wearing a helmet that could also be part of the problem. Different helmets react differently. I have a Bell helmet that gives me real bad buffeting, but my Zox helmet gives me barely any when riding the same bike.
