I use AMSOIL 20W50 in the engine and AMSOIL oil filter. AMSOIL severe gear 75w90 for the tranny and harley semi synthetic for the primary or AMSOIL 20W50 also works well there. I have researched all kinds of oil. The last thing I would use is syn3. I would even use hd360 before syn3. MOBIL1 V-TWIN is also good as a second choice. When I was using syn3 it was the only time my bike ever ran hot and I would use about one half quart every 2500-3000 miles. I have never ran hot with AMSOIL and I use no oil between changes and often go 5000 miles. You just cant beat it and it is less expensive than most. Look up the AMSOIL article at the end of this page and read the white paper.
you moved from boston to live in greenbay????......are you nutz? or just like snow
o ya sweet lookin bike
I use amsoil in all 3.....fleetfarm carrys it around here
Been running Mobil 1 15w-50 in my dressers forever and BelRay hypoid in the trannies. Never a problem and the BelRay is well known to quiet and make the gear changes smoother.
Moving from a big city life Boston kid to the Valley (Neenah) back in 1977 at 21 years old WAS tough and it sucked bigtime till I met a babe and bought my first scoot.
Now 30 years later, with a wife and three teenagers, I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world.
God's country is Number 1!!!!! And what an awesome state for the two wheelers. Cycles in Massachusetts = suicide.
HATE THE SNOW here - but last year I rode into December and back out again this March - prefer to ride when it is cold (30-40) versus hot like today (85-95).
I ran the HD dino till the 1000 miler then switched to the SYN 3. After a trip to Daytona and 300+ (as per my McEwan dash gauge) stuck in traffic, fried right thigh and strange noises coming from the motor, I switched to Mobil 1 15W50 and Fulsac duels. Takes a lot longer for the gauge to even start to register and never seen over 270-280 now. I have a case of V-Twin oil in the garage waiting for the next change but I don't expect much of a difference in how it'll work compared to the Gold cap 15W50. Just getting hard to find around here. Don't think it matters too much whats in the primary or trans...HD junk or whatever...
