Well I think if your looking for an exhaust that's quiet, the stealth is the way to go. I don't know what just the slipons would be like, but the true dual setup is nice. Sometimes I miss a bit of the bark it used to have, but not going deaf while riding is really nice. There is still enough sound to make me happy and I'm really surprised at the increase in bottom end and midrange performance.

Now when I'm out riding I don't have to be noise concious. I used to always worry about offending people, and we all know the pressure these days about noise pollution. I don't need to add an amp to my stereo anymore (though I did order the 7.25 J&M speakers, which showed up today).

I would say that for most guys on the forum here, the stealth's would probably be too quiet, but for some of us it's also a question of being practical. I used to push my bike 150ft down the driveway in hopes to not wake my kids if I was going to work early, or going for a latenight ride. Not anymore.

So would you say they are a bit louder then stock? That is what I would like with a deep tone to them

I just got done putting mine on. They seem louder than stock but in a different tone. Deeper and mellower. I think the stock mufflers barked more when you got on it, but the Stealth 7's are just as loud or louder but deeper. I had to raise the volume on the radio a notch. I think they are a good alternative to anyone looking at the SE's. Plus the angle of the tip matches the bag perfectly and doesn't stick out so far.

I'm currently running HD Touring Pipes, but would like a little more rumble; have heard the S & S SPO Ovals are a good pipe for volume and sound (@ 85 decibels) but have not physcially seen any to make a determination.
