Default switch on cyls

ive seen some bikes that have what seems to be a push in switch on the cylinders near the spark pugs. what is this and what does it do? thanks HM

Compression Release to help when starting hi compression motors.

You're probably seeing a manual compression release button. Allows for easier starting on high compression engines. It resets itself once the motor fire up.

If your speaking of a S&S, they have electric compression releases in the center of the head
