Have an issue and I hope somebody can assist because I am out of options. Have a 2000 Electra Glide Classic and having an issue shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear; shifting from 3rd to 2nd is smooth but on the up shift it goes into gear but with some effort.
To date, I have adjusted the clutch, clutch cable, replaced the shift drum, shift forks, shift fork spring, transmission oil and shift fork shaft. Next to replacing the gears, not sure what else to look for...
Make sure your linkage lever behind the Primary at the trans is tight. Replace the allen head bolt w a hex head and tighten. You'll be surprised something as simple as this can cause it. I'm sure you replaced the Primary Oil but if not try Redline Primary Oil or Amsoil. The clutch plates may not be releasing with old oil. Try shifting without the clutch, just rev it up in second and then back off the throtle and it should shift. If it doesn't the gears might be binding some or not in sinc. Just my thoughts and I'm no mechanic.
