So it seems to me, that considering the Charging Info that @hattitude posted, and that @lp had good results from the cheaper Amazon batteries, pretty much any decent NiMh 9V should work fine, but steer away from the Li-Ion because of charging issues. I know the MoCo will definitely overprice stuff, but damn man.......$55 for a 9V battery? Geeze.......

And don't forget that Li-ion batteries are the ones that can catch fire and/or explode.... I suspect improper charging could lead to that...

The info I found, hinted at that about Li-ion batteries:

"transportation regulations that Li-ion batteries must follow"

"Li-ion batteries use chargers equipped with a safety feature that monitors the charging process and cuts the power if a problem arises" - The siren battery is recharged from the HD charging system... pretty sure it doesn't have a safety feature for Li-ion batteries..

It would really suck to be on a long ride, and have a fire start under your ***.....

I think when I replaced mine I found one at Walmart. Any rechargeable 9V Nimh 300 mah battery will work just fine. $55.00 is ridiculous unless it includes installation cost, a free hot dog and soda while you wait at the HD dealer -

I knew more when I was younger, but I am wiser now.
