I have the Cardo System Scala Rider; used it over a two day trip a week ago and it was great.
The qeustion I have on the HD system is this: Can it also hook up to the stock system on the Ultra; therefore being able to use the CB/Radio?
Stereo (but still not anywhere near Bose quality). I have it paired to my GPS, and my GPS paired to my phone, so its all good.
Which GPS are you using. I have a Zumo 550. I first oaired it up with my samsung phone. I made a call and it worked perfect except I didn't have anyway of talking. I went and bought the Harley headset yesterday and it won't work worth a flip. It keeps disconnecting the reconnecting. The one time I was able to make a call it would not let me hang up. I think the two devices, cell and headset, are interferring with each other. Tonight I am going to delete them both out of the Zumo and pair them up one at a time and see if they each work by themselves to prove my theory.
I wonder if it matters which one you pair up first? Did you guys have any problems like this?
I just got the Harley headset. While it works ok the speakers are kind of cheap. It looks like most of the Bluetooth headsets don't come with good speakers.
Paired my phone with my Zumo 550. Zumo is paired with my Scala Rider Q2 headset. Everything works great. After everything is paired my phone contacts are loaded onto my Zumo. When I get a call if it is someone in my contacts that name appears on my Zumo screen. If I am listening to my Zumo's XM (through the Aux port), my music is muted to answer the call. The Zumo screen gives me the option to answer or ignore phone call. If I am listening to radio or CD I have to lower volume on radio to have conversation.
Thanks. just called the dealer and he has them in stock. I haven't worn my 3/4 helmet in a long time but with winter comimg it's probably time. I already paired my phone to my Zumo 550. My understand is that when I pair this up to the Zumo I can talk on the phone.
I do have a question. Right now I have the Zumo hooked up to the Aux of the radio and listen to the Zumo commands over the speaker. What is going to happen when the phones rings? Am I going to have to cut off the speaker or will the Zumo kill the aux output in the zumo cradle? The reason I used the speakers is I have a Satellite radio also that is also tied into the Harley radio. I listen to the music there today and have a little device that switches the audio from the Satellite to the Zumo when the zump talks.
I am just trying to understand how it will work with this headset hooked up. I guess I'll know tonight when I hook it up.
You'll be riding along and when a call comes in it beeps a couple of times and then the music mutes and the phone call answers automatically. You talk - you listen. It's pretty neat

A couple of things to note. While your phone pairs up with the Zumo you may have problems pairing the phone and the headset up at the same time. I did and here's what happens. If you have both paired and the headset keeps disconnecting and reconnecting by itself then you do not have a compatable phone. I had this happen and had to get another telephone. It was driving me nuts until I found the answer on the Zumo Forums. Also in the Zumo under the Bluetooth settings, there is a button at the bottom in the middle that say audio. It allows the phone only or everything to come through the headset. I have phone only because I don't want the music blairing in my ears. The music comes out the speakers and I just hear the phone through the headsets.
I have the Scala Rider Q2 set-up with a HD half helmet. I love it I tralk with my parents on the ride home from work, they never know that I am on my bike. The only down fall to it is the FM stinks a far as range and the MP3 hook up is touchy. But for calling quality it Rocks.
Check out the Camos Bluetooth headsets here. They make the headsets for Harley and use high quality iMC speakers. We also have a half helmet version and a version for in ear earbuds coming soon.
