I took my mother on a 4 hour ride yesterday and she had never been on a bike and she is 70, Any way her right ankle got blisters on it from I believe the engine as I have truduals, has anybody had this happen to them? again not the left leg like you think from the trudual but the open side on the right? Oh I forgot she had on those stupid 3/4 jeans with ankles exsposed.
Wife is a nurse. She states that at your moms age she may have thinner skin, may need to look into full length jeans and over the ankle boots. Watch burns for infection.

I think it is great that you took your mother. My mother still gives me hell over my bikes and I haven't lived at home since I was 18. But don't let anyone ride that is not dressed to ride. I don't care how old or young or hot they are.
As a rider, you should demand that all your passengers wear full-length jeans and ankle boots! Not only will these measures protect the legs and ankles from the heat. It also protects their legs from being beaned by a rock or stung by an insect at high speed. Four hours is a long time to expose one's skin (and limbs) to the heat and road debris!
I've seen some riders wore nothing but tank tops, shorts, and flip flops! And, can't imagine what would happen if he/she goes down. Oh well, each his own I guess.
