Does anyone have a problem with their bike idling too fast when hot? I have a 08 Street Glide and when my bike gets hot it idles up and down when stopping. Then when turned off for a while it returns to normal. Does anyone know what can be causing this?
Its normal, when they get hot there is a preset temperture that the idle goes up a 100 or so rpms to help circulation to cool things down. See if you have the option to roll the throttle forward to cut the rear cylinder out when at lights.
what slow glide is talking about is parade mode. you can manualy adj your air to fuel mixture to a a richer mixture that is preset when in stop and go traffic and dont have a lot of air to cool your engine ie parades. holding the throttle forward for 3 seconds. you will see the cruise light flash green. this means its on. repeat and it flashes red/off
for what you are describing try this pay attention to where your throttle position/rpm's are when you turn the bike off. the ecm uses where ever it is when it shuts down as "zero" but limits to 2000.
to reset
turn the run/stop on the handlebar to run
turn the ignition on the tank to on
allow check engine light to go out
turn ignition on tank off
repeat 5x's
this will reset your throttle position sensor for fly by wire
