- AAA will NOT tow a M/C unless you have RV/MC coverage and in CA that is not available - it is in most states, check yours.
.
That must be new.... I've been an AAA member for 10+ years, I live in SoCal, and I have the RV/MC coverage... I used the AAA towing service once for my bike and they were fast, professional, and did a good job.
Regardless of the service you subscribe to, I'm sure the speed and skill of the tow operators are dependent on the area where you need the service... I would suspect a metropolitan area would have better service than out in the middle of no where...
EDIT:
HA! .... got sucked into a 12 year old thread... I hate when that happens...!!

How do you get AMA..Riding to Canada so is AMA better than AAA in Canada and do both cover you in Canada. I agree HOG sucks.
AAA is linked with CAA which have towed my 2015 Ultra twice which broke down while I was travelling. They don't charge a penny if you have the MC coverage, which I do. Plus you get all the free maps you want.
After the debacle with AAA for me; I went back to HOG which is Road-America.
They haven't failed me yet. (5 times)
Anyway, I put the name and phone # of dealers that are open on Sunday in the areas
we ride (4 states) on paper, kept in a saddlebag, in case I need to call one for assistance.
I also have the phone # of Roll-Back companies in the same areas I carry with me.
A couple guys that run a Roll-Back that I know personally; I have asked them if I need
to call them; will they come?
I have their assurance.
I also carry Tie-Downs, A/C, and Tire Plugs.

Nothing wrong with this; ^^^
Someone may post some pertinent info that may help someone..........
Can't really give a whole lot of input cept i went with AMA because of coverage on me no matter what i am on, or in. 2 wheels or 4...but one thing i can say that has changed since 12 years ago is facebook. There is a site called North American Biker Rescue. Has like 40,000 members on it and is dedicated to trouble/broke down only. Great site (page) to be a member of if you don't know. Very rarely do i see a post on there no matter where it is in the United States that someone isn't on there way to help someone else within an hour or less.
