I put that powered antenna in my ride last night with my new radio. It gets better reception than my cars. It gets the weather band, and it's completely hidden.

How's that new system working out for you? All you need now is a nice long trip to really appreciate the advantages of zoning out on the ride coupled with some good tunes.
My last bike was an Electra Glide Classic. I made the tour pack detachable and moved the antenna mount (radio only on this bike) between the fender and saddle bag. Took off the whip antenna and replaced it with a 12 inch rubber antenna I got at Radio Shack. A friend of mine did the same thing on his Road Glide. No reception problems at all.
