Default Tailbones, run/stop/turn

Anyone running this from tailbones ? Tried the Harley run/stop/turn kit and IMHO they are nothing short of a hazard ! The contrast is terrible between the run and stop creating a bad saftey problem . Took them off and went back to my stop/turn only.
The MOCO had better make a change to these or someone is going to get run over[sm=outcold.gif]

Yup I got the Tailbones on my 06 RK Custom. I've had buddies riding behind me say that the running lights are bright and the brakes are alot brighter. Tailbones also has a built-in load equalizer if you wanna run LED lights. Got mine through www.mandmcycles.com for around $88 plus shipping.

I've got the Harley version and they seem fine to me. I've never had anyone mention anything while riding behind me for a while.

What do Tailbones do that's different or better?

Tailbones also has a built-in load equalizer if you wanna run LED lights. No splicing in of an additional load equalizer. It is all in the one module.

Harley's old system was pretty good, just turn/stop. Now that they've "improved" it and added the running lights, you can't really tell when the brakes are applied. And, it could be a danger if those behind you don't know that you're stopping.

Kuryakyn's run/turn/stop flash 3 times when you step on the brake. They also have the load balancer. I run this with the LED turn signals and taillight. Awesome.

I have the old style HD brake/turn. I was about to buy the Kuryakyn when I read in the print in the instruction sheet that said you must "unplug the load equalizer prior to using the 4-way flashers. Failure to do so may cause extreme heat build-up and damage the motorcycle". I don't think I would necessarily remember to pull off my seat and unplug the load equalizer in the event I wanted to use my 4-way flashers. I think I will stick with what I got.

I think that Run/Turn/Brake module that HD has is very unsafe. I was riding in a PGR ride following a guy who had that set up and the difference between running and brake was so minimal that you couldn't tell he had hit the brakes and I damn near ran over top him a couple times before I dropped out of formation and dropped to the back of the pack.

I know that most people are watching for a change in the lights and if your turn signals light up as brake lights only when you hit the brakes it is a noticable change. There is no way I want another bike and especially a car sliding up behind me or possibly rearending me because they didn't notice the difference in my lights.

To each his own, but not for me, NO WAY!!!!!!
Couldn't agree more, seems like a the HD new version is a bad design and idea !
