I just had a stage two done on a 2010 RKC including cams, 103 kit, SE tuner, sert update, no dyno time, $2300. The Monster ovals were another $600 on top of that for a total of $2900. They want to dyno when I get 1000 miles on it. Have to wait until Spring around here.
Couldn't agree more, FM has done the leg work. Mine should be here Friday. Oh, By the way mine was under $700 shipped.
But what you are forgetting is that while lots of folks run and like FM, and I have no issues with them either, all it does is "trick" the O2 sensors. The HD-SERT actually controls them. BIG difference, and why a big difference in price and setup. You are really comparing Apples to Oranges in the end.
Sounds about right to me figure the race tuner is about 400.00 plus the air cleaner, the slips u pick out plus labor and dyno time. Man................ I love my carburetor
I don't understand why anyone would want to disable the O2 sensors to be able to run a PC. Why not use a SERT, SEST, or better yet a TTS Mastertune and let the O2 sensors do their job.
Install everything yourself, order from ealers on the net that offer a discount. Then take the sert and have it installed and dyno tuned. It should be a bit less expensive.
I just put this setup on my bike from Fuel Moto for $1066 delivered. This included the Monster ovals,se air kit and PC 5.Very easy install.I did this on a Wednesday, took a 40 mile ride on Thursday to test and rode approximately 500 miles on Saturday.Fuel mileage was close to original but hard to say as you will twist the wick more when the noisemakers are installed! I haven't plugged into the PC 5 as of yet because Fuel moto 's setup seems on the money. Carbs are cheaper but FI is easier no doubt!
I paid about $1300 per bike at an indy shop. I wouldn't have a dealer do the work for 2 reasons: 1) They charge more and 2) The indy tunes it for max performance meaning it's no longer EPA legal. Dealership must abide by the law so it's not going to be as good of a tune. My Heritage was dyno tuned.
Just remember, if you are still in warranty you may want to ask the dealer , and get it in writing about your scoot still having one after any installs are done.Too many horror stories floating around .
