hope i can get some help on may way to work, almost there and leaving from a stop my bike sputtered and died went to crank but wouldnt start. get it towed to work check battery its ok check for spark yep its there too disconnect the quick connect fitting to the inj rail to see if pump is working and fuel shot out plug the damn line back hit hit the start button and viola it started. so what could be the culprit tank is full no driveability symptoms anything to look for any help would be great thanks.
Is the gas cap venting like it should? Maybe blockage of the vent? On my '05 EGC I used to have my bike sputter badly. I'd loosen the gas cap and immediately it would run fine. I could do this on the fly once I realized what it was. Usually this only occurred on a HOT day right after I'd filled the bike up. Especially if I'd let it sit parked right after filling it.
I had something similar happen on another brand bike one. It was the overflow line was pinched from the tank. The gas cap was not venting properly so it kind of formed a vaccum and starved for fuel. I took the gas cap off and it ran perfect. Later I fix the pinched line. It's a longshot but worth trying; if I understand you problem.

Great minds think alike We both gave the same answer at the same time. We MUST be right.
There was a factory recall about the filter shell in the gas tank. It sounds just like that. I would contact HD and see if the service bulletin has been done on your bike.
Wow. In flight? What's it like to own a bike that flies?

I thought that was for 2008 and above. His sig pic shows an '07. The more I think about this, more I have to agree that it sounds like the fuel tank is not venting, creating a vacuum and starving the engine for fuel.
