I have used the lock several times on my 06 with no problems and also asked my dealer about the recall. They said the parts are not in yet but would let me know when they come in.

Got the notice on Friday. Will be going to the dealer tomorrow so they can write down all the info and order the parts. I was amazed that we could not do all of that over the phone, or even out of thier own records since I bought the bike there, and all of my service has been done by them, I KNOW I am in the Computer...but..I'll go up, and a week to 10 days later, the part will come in and I wil have to make an appointment to go back and get it fixed...shesh...you would think that they would have the parts in stock, specially knowing of the recall.

My fork locked broke over 1 month ago. 06 SG purchused in Jan. The lock would turn, but the forks stayed locked. Allot of fun putting it on the flatbed tow truck that HOG sent out.
Well over a month now, and the dealer still doesn't have the part. They told me that my bike took a "International" fork lock and was hard to come by.
Not sure what to believe.

I wonder if my bike needs this.

I purchased it in May 06 . . . How can I tell if it's a Feb or earlier model?

Turn the wheel to the right and it's located in front of the gas tank on the left side of the frame.

Got the letter from HD yesterday. I called the dealer whom I bought the bike from. He says he has to notify the MOCO and in 24 hours they will have the part. I said can you order it and I will bring it in? He says no you have to leave it. I called the other dealer in town. They said they can do it if I bring it in but....the first available appointment is July 21!!! Give me the parts I'll do it myself. I had it out when I changed out my bars.
