Default Progressive monotube fork cartrige ?

Just got my new bagger mag and there was an ad for Progressive's new monotube fork cartrige kit for baggers... looks interesting...

does anyone know anything about these things? I recently installed progressive springs and heavier fork oil... the setup works pretty well but I sometimes ride my bike kinda hard in the twisties and looking for the best setup I can get/afford.

here's a link:

This will be my next mod (requested to Santa). I'll let you know if I'm happy with the results.

There is an earlier thread on these here. Search it out, but be aware it quickly ran off the rails!

No real info on the cartridges, but a lot of idle chat...

Thumbs up

took my first test ride on new years day, first time ever going from stock to anything else.rode for a couple hours hitting speed bumps, pot holes,100 mph ect. All i can say is the bike stayed level and smoother.Added a stablelizer a few months ago(truetrack) which is the only other mod to suspension.Id have to say i noticed more improvement then i expected, but lack any experience with other set ups.ive never riden anything but harleys in in 30 yrs of riding.

I reallyhave no comparison or reviews to read.only reason i even put them in was cause I did the crome slider forks and figured $296 bucks was a good range for shocks while I had the front apart. After my test ride it has sparked an interest to get further caught up in my obbsession with bikes and try rear shocks...maybe next year

Default I bought the Progressive Montube cartridge

I am having the monotubes put in today by an independent shop. I was intimidated by the directions of taking the forks off the bike etc with my limited skills. If I can put at least a couple hundred miles on them Saturday I will report back. It can't be any worse than stock. Most people laud themselves on their wise decisions no matter what they install on their rig, so Ill try and report back objectively.

The part and installation should be $540 all in. The shop said $130 until they saw the unit and realized they had to remove tire, fender and stuff and it became $260. I cannot argue that since I don't know **** about it really. I'm not a master mechanic but I have ridden over 40k on six different bikes in last 18 month since I started riding. I hope there is a 12 step program for this as I may need one. At least this habit doesn't make me puke in the morning.

Hopefully they will be half as good as the $1000 solution I hear discussed.
