My bike will sit and idle just fine but when I ride it and hold a steady speed in ANY gear, it starts to pop, stutter, surge and carry on like crazy. It only seems to happen when it is hot. I have checked the plugs and they seem fine. The bike has no motor work, Vance & Hines true duals with Rinehart slip ons. I also have the V&H fuel pak. I am baffled and frustrated any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
I would see if there was a code recorded, someone here knows how to check for codes by using the odometer button I've forgotten how, the guys here will help you if you ask. Record the information from the code and call your HD dealer service dept. If there is no code to record I would start simple, spark plug color will tell you if you have a hot/lean condition, for example a soft light brown with no heavy buildup on the electrode of the plug is ideal, but a white residue may indicate a very hot lean condition.
Start with a code check then fresh fuel and fresh plugs, plugs can act wierd when they warm up and they are not that expensive, plug wire connections to the coil under the neck, then fuel management system you have on your bike. MHO
