Just put it upside down on your seat, and when you sit down and it goes up your azz, you'll remember quick enough!

I found that cool feature in a different way, one day I took a long ride, at the end of the ride I filled up the bike, no kidding it got over 60 MPG, I left the gas station got to thinking about it, decided that maybe I hadn't filled the tank full, stopped the bike and wile sitting on it took the cap off to see how far down it was, it wasn't down, quickly put the cap back on, still don't know how I got that kind of milage, never did again, and no it wasn't faulty math, I rechecked that also.

Or overfill a bit, then leave your hot bike in the hot sun while you wait for your bud to take a last minute restroom break and get a huge rush of expanding gasoline through the cap all over you and the bike when you try and drive away.

I just always look past the fuel door before shutting it to make sure the cap is in place.

Hmmm, well, my bike is more likely to spill on the jiffy stand, if I up rite her, the gas evens out lower. and on my 87 I leave the cap in next to the fill hole, can't close the door with the cap in there and not on. plus, no worries about damaging my leather seat, paint, or having to bend my fat *** over if it falls!!

Yep, I leave my cap next to the fill hole. Not a problem.

I forgot mine a few weeks back. Left it in the crook between the starboard bag and passenger seat. I noticed I forgot it when I got where I was going and saw the cap as I was removing my helmet. No gas stream down the tank or onto me.
