Another vote for setting it on your seat. I've always done that and never forgotten one cap. Now on the other hand, i have tried to top off the tank too much and spewed gas all down the tank. Dangit!
Would any of you guys know why this happens? If you overfill the tank and lean it on the stand the gas drips down the overflow tube by the swing arm. OK makes sense, but I have a bud that has an 05 injected EG and if he overfills his the bike will start to run like crap and he will have to keep reving the throttle and put it on fast idle for a few minutes, then drive away. Can anyone esplain this? Sorry dont mean to hi jack the thread.
Not real sure but I would think it has something to do with emissions & it is trying to keep it from getting on the ground. It also might be messing with a sensor of some sort. On a cage it would be in the EVAP system (charcoal canister filled with fuel) but am not sure if the motorcycle industry is subject to that. Hope it helps.
