Just a thought but, if you put a detachable pak on, I would be more concerned with them stealing the whole pak, before they would rip the lid off to steel what might be inside.

Exactly my point. The TP itself is probably worth more than the contents. Get the detachable lock kit.

I don't think you can lift up the rear enough to look in. They might be able to rip the lid off (thiefs can do lots of damage). But it would take more, than just a curious thief.
It would also be easiser for a thief to slide the pins off the leaft side latched. Lockind device is in the middle as Tex FatBoy said.

Good point. Forgot about those stock hinge pins. Another reason to replace with the chrome hinges. Did mine about a year ago.
