I let the dealer do the first 1000 mile service. They have a window to watch through and my mechanic seemed to do it all. I was new to HD and let them do it.
After the first 1000 mile service I've done everything that needs to be done.
An HD is an easy bike to work on in my opinion.
I do however let the dealer do tire changes and even brake work due to the nature of a "2 wheel" machine.
In addition, the dealer I use, when I use one, does good work.....HD of Cool Springs, TN
Went down to a local indy here in Columbia, SC, Capitol City Cycles and picked up some amsoil, and other supplies needed; spent $82 and went home and preformed my own service in about an hour. Very easy to do, it's not rocket science. As far as the clutch and belt adjustment, I don't see that they need adjusting but will keep an eye on it. Saved myself about $220 which I can put towards a goodie for the bike. Thanks for all of your input, ride safe.
