I wasn't sure the best term for it? I would like to remove that rail that runs over the top of the back fender around the seat. I like the clean look of the SG. Is there a kit or something to remove this rail? I do have the quick release passanger backrest. Is this possible? Thanks, Eric
Passenger grab rail, 2 bolts on each side, have to remove some docking hardware & fender strut covers to get at 'em. Seems like the rail adds some structural support, not sure if I would remove it, plus it looks okay. When travelling I lock my detach backrest/luggage rack/tourbag to the rail with a cable lock for added security. I was thinking about getting the rail and strut covers powercoated black.
I've seen a few SG's with it removed, so it can be done. Have seen a light kit to add also that gives you more LED's at the rear and they mount where the bar enters the strut cover. May have been cycle visions that carries them.
