How does a set of true duels inprove performance? Not knowing much about it, but the true duels actually restrict the exhaust flow on the back cylinder down to a single pipe, right?
Isn't the back cylinder tuned to run with the stock split exhaust? I just know enough to get into trouble but I'm pretty sure that, anytime the volosity is changed, performance is changed.
Does anybody think true duals improve performance?
If that question is directed to me, yes I have heard true duels improve performance. I guess you have to assume that some people don't know what they're talking about, but since I know nothing about it, I thought I would ask.
I realize they improve the looks to some owners. I just wanted to get a few opinions on the subject.
I asked this a while ago, but didn't get a real solid answer.
My only REAL experience was with a V8. If you put a crossover pipe into a car with true duals, you can feel the improvement. Soooo, I would assume that if you take it OUT, there would be a loss of power???
I realize not everything done to a bike is done for power or else shotgun pipes would never exist, but can someone who has put true duals on give us some feedback please??
Am I sacrificing anything with my set-up? NO, it all comes down to the TUNE. Bike runs strong throughout the entire powerband. I've got the performance/appearance/sound that I want, and am MORE than satisfied. Would I gain ANY noticable performance advantage with stock headers or a 2 into 1 system, not likely. It's a practical stage one bagger and I just wanna ride it, not take it to the strip!
Thanks bountyhunter. I know on my Eglide, most of the sound is from the right pipe, of course.
I am assuming it would be more or less even on both sides with your setup, right? Can you hear the cylinders fire right, left, right, etc. or is it smoother than that? I know that sounds dumb, but I have never heard a bike set up like yours.

No, the question was not directed at you. As I said does anybody, meaning on the forum, believe they do. Two of my friends have put on true duals and they think it was reduced in power. I would like true duals for the sound, and would also like to hear more on this topic?
i agree with redneck. i thought i liked the look of the crossover pipe because it was more chrome. boy was i wrong. put the true duals on, and it looks so much better balanced, no more heat on me or my girls leg. incredible sound and bounty hunter made the best point saying its all in the tune. which ever exhaust system u use the numbers will be greatr with a dyno or you can just buy a pcIII, and plug and play. theyre maps are generally dead on. then you can get it dynoed when you get more money
