I've got the EZ Up on mine and have no problem getting it on the stand while on the bike. It sounds like to me you have the wrong one/size on your bike. Give Rod a call at WheelDock, he's a good guy and should be able to straighten this out for you.

I have been working my tail off and have been on the road so have not been on the forum lately but looked this thread over and I have a few thoughts. If you are in the habit of leaving your bike in gear and some folks do this, it will make putting the bike up all but impossible. One other thing I see at shows where I coach first timers after an install is that some folks inadvertently hold the front brake to keep the bike in one position and again even a touch on the front brake lever will stop the bike from rolling back. I know these are simple ideas but just want to eliminate a few things. If the air in your shocks is in the normal range about all that is left is the stand is for standard height and you have a lowered suspension perhaps. BTW thanks to all my customers who have pitched in to help. Also thanks for all the favorable comments. I will try to find time to check into these issues more often.

Mine dragged in sweepers and I didn't care for that feeling plus I had one accidental roll off too and between the dragging and embarrasing roll off, I removed and sold it. Still, it's a quality made product that works nice if you don't experience the minor quirks.

I had one on my '09 for a while but it hit hard in corners so I traded it in for a Wheel Dock instead. Mine was one of the first '09 models so Rod may have modified the design by now to minimize the interference.

I enjoyed one on my '05 Ultra, it was easy to get the bike on and off the stand while being astride the bike. I bought it to make storage in the garage easier, but found that the bike took up more room straight up than leaned against the wall, so I sold it. But it did work well for other parking.

I bet , if you push down on the lever on the stand, push back against the seat with your ***, and lift gently on the right hande saddlebag crash bar, it will go up from the seat.

Thanks, Rod...

If you ever come to the Keys get in touch, you won’t have to kiss my *** but I’ll let you buy me a drink. It wants to be on level ground and you don’t want to try it with the bike pointed down slope but if you are in neutral and do not apply any brake it all but stands up on its own.

I had one put one on my Street Glide and was worried about it dragging at the top of the ramp when putting the bike in the pod style trailer that I use as a garage. Rod told me that if it hit anything to send it back and he’d refund the purchase price. I still have it and I think it’s the best money I spent in Daytona.

According to the brochure the guy who does the “Ride Like a Pro” videos put one on his bagger and couldn’t drag it. Since he drags the floor boards all the time in his demos I can’t imagine anyone being able to drag the stand in a turn.

Normally, I've found that to be true. The only times I've grounded mine has been in situations where something caused the suspension to compress. I've bumped it several times going over speed bumps on residential streets. I've also had it touch down in a tight downhill switchback. Under that condition, the road was steep enough that I had to ride the brakes a bit to keep my speed in check. The lean angle was on up there and with the front end compressed because of the braking, the center stand kissed the ground in the process. The last time I touched it down was in a clover leaf interchange. I had made it most of the way around and was accelerating to merge into traffic when I ran over an irregularity in the pavement. The rear suspension compressed and it touched down solidly. The bike remained stable, fortunately, but it definitely got my attention.

I'm also curious what year model the "Ride Like a Pro" guy was riding. I'm on an 09 model and the frames are different. I've seen the WheelDock on older bikes and they seem to tuck in a bit tighter under the bike than mine does.

FWIW!

Steve R.

My guess is a pre 09; I’m sure there are tighter turns with more bank on some of the roads I’ve been on but I can’t remember dragging my floor boards on any of them. At least not as hard as the “Ride Like a Pro” guy was doing when I saw him in Leesburg a couple of years ago.
