flhrci running hot?
I just traded my 04 sporty for an 03 FLHRCI. I know the Road King is alot bigger but it seems like it's putting off alot of heat while and after riding. Am I just use to the smaller 1200 or could there be a problem? I just went for a short ride and I could feel the heat through my jeans. The bike has 10,500 miles on it.

RE: flhrci running hot?
I doubt if there is a problem. On a good hot day you can just feel the heat more. Most of the heat is coming from the stock exhaust crossover. If the bike has the original factory tuning for A/F mix, then it is running very lean and much hotter than it would with a richer mix. The concensus around here is to go with a good aftermarket exhaust and air cleaner then add the Screaming Eagle Race Tuner or Power Commander III with a good tune on a dynomometer. The tuner can richen up the lean A/F. You get more torque and hp, plus the engine will not heat as much. You're call ....
