So, the previous owner of my road king had installed something i am having trouble identifying.
Sitting above my air cleaner cover is a *** attached to a cable going into the carb. It is held in place by a small bracket but is loose enough to tuck under the cover. At first inspection it looks to be an idle speed adjustment. turning twards the front the bike increases the idle speed and the opposite twards the rear. Is this just to adjust idle speed? or is it changing the fuel/air mixture? i havn't changed any performance parts on my bike but i am looking to soon and attempting to learn how to re-jet and tune myself. I have searched the internet and have found no info on this..... thanks.
Idle speed adjustment. I can't imagine why you would need to get to it so easy or often. I would take it off, it's ugly. :-)
Yeah, seems pretty pointless to me too, i can tuck it under the football cover, but im thinking of getting a heavy breather. it would be kinda cool if it was a mixture screw adjuster so you could retune on the fly.
I think it's your enrichiner that he moved fr. the oposite side. You pull it out to start and leave it half way for about 1-2 min. when the bike is cold.
