first gear clunk fix

This is my first HD, so I thought the clunk was normal. But it never seemed to be anything to worry about. At least know it's in gear. I guess the gears smooth out with time and mileage.

The "clunk" is as iconic as the Bar and Shield. The "Harley" thing is way over your head. Go buy a Moped.

They are working on "the fix", it is a automatic transmission, CV type! Supposed to come out with the first water cooled bikes. Also a "step-thru Ultra for you vertically challenged folks. Just be patient!!!

That worked for me. Pulled the clutch in for 4 to 5 seconds before shifting to first, thought it didn't shift without that clunk. Great tip. Now I have optional clunk capabilities. To clunk or not to clunk, that is the question.
