Installed a pair of Harley vented lowers on my 09 FLHT. I opened the vents all the way and rode about 200 miles. It was 76 degrees today and my boots felt like they were cooked! Is the increased heat normal?
I installed HD vented lowers on my 09 FLHTC Electra Glide Classic and I haven't noticed the heat being very bad at all. However, I also installed 1" floorboard extensions from SOOS, who is a member here, and I highly recommend them to you. If for no other reason, just for the comfort factor alone; even though an inch might not sound like much, it means more air flowing between the motor and your boots.
Feet warm, engine cool, that's what we want, especially for those of us up north but now with the lowers you're prolly forcing a pile of wind on yer motor, good thing!
My wife's did it a lot from vibration and wind. Many came back to the local dealer for the same problem. Fix was to tighten the nut inside the glove boxes.
