Default Trailer Hitches

I know, or at least I think, that the majority of H-D riders do not pull a trailer. For those who do, of which I am one, I have a question. Has anyone installed the Bushtec hitch which they're making expressly for the Ultra?? Was it an easy installation?? Was the wiring just a matter of plugging it in?? Anything to do with the trouble or lack of it which you had would be greatly appreciated. I've pulled a Bushtec since 1990 but this is a new hitch that they're selling now. Anybody got any info??

Default RE: Trailer Hitches

I have one on my FLHTCUI. They installed it at Daytona. I watched them, didn't seem too much trouble. The wires wer saddle tapped under the seat at the tail light connector. If I had done it I would have used one of the pug in adapters. The method they used works fine. I actually have one of the adapters, but never installed it. Bought it on ebay. Bushtec is good stuff.

Hey mcman, how are you. I've been pulling a trailer behind my last two roadkings for about 100k miles. I've installed my own hitches with EASE! I have used HITCHDOC reciever type hitches. It is anti-rattle, Very clean install & ball removes from bike in minutes. I chose to make my wiring harness for my bike, got a universal connector from a local bike shop (plug in adapter//that plugs in series of factory harness under front seat) and leaves open leads that I wired up a 2 ft harness ran down the left side of the back fender to plug into trailer. Good luck on your trailer pulling!
