Default Packed my Rush @16.5K

Right side was almost gone left was still good. Used the spagetti packing and wrapped clear tape aroud it as per Fuel Moto. The right side must get more exhaust than the left

I have over 12K on my Rush w/2" baffles. I've noticed they are a little louder now, but still sound great. How do you know when they are worn out? Were the baffles hard to get out? How did you remove them? Thanks in advance.

Remove muffler, remove bolt holding baffle in, get a broom stick about 4' long and put it inside the muffler, turn upside down with broomstick on the ground and slide the muffler up & down to tap out the baffle. The broomstick will hit the cross piece welded inside the baffle. Replace packing and assemble. I put a little high temp anti sieze on the outside of the baffle where it contacts the muffler shell and also on the bolt threads holding the baffle in. Something wrong with the quote function

Sorry but that made me laugh. It's funny how many people are out there riding without knowing that there motor is getting ready to grenade on them. Don't take this wrong.... I'm not making fun at all. Just some "problems" aren't really problems to 99% of the riding population until they read about them on the net.

Anyway.... To answer your thought in the original post - If you are still using the stock headers with the crossover your right muffler does handle more exhaust than the left. Just the way it works by design. More like a 2-1 than a dual setup.

Yeah. I tend to operate on the "if it ain't broke, fix it till it is" philosophy myself....

Sorry but I missed something here. It's a lot different having a baffle wear out than a motor getting ready to explode. Most people know the setup with the crossover pipe is going more to your right side than left...makes sense! I would prefer true duals, but can't afford them right now.

I repacked my right side because it was rattling, metal to metal. It was embarrassing!
