I just felt up to adding that after I had been hit on bicycle a couple of times by cars and hit a couple on my scooter in my youth, I should ride as if nobody can see me. I even removed my reflectors on my bicycle so as so not to even give them a chance to see me. Because, even if they do, it's automatically assumed that it's me that needs to get out of there way anyway. Get it! "ALWAYS give the opposition the right of way."
I ride bicycles and have a hard time sometimes dealing with an idiot rider when I am in a car.
It all boils down to individual driver mentality. and though I've had four encounters with cars myself, I am blessed to still be here today, able to share the experience and knowledge gained. I hope my sharing helps even one rider someday.
Well the snow had melted and the road was clear. This guy just wasn't paying attention, an I was already in the middle of th drive way. I think what happened is he was too impatient to wait on the other cars and just punched. Thank God I have strong legs, that extra push on the pedal cause him to hit my back wheel instead of my knee head on. I do feel blessed tht I didn't get creamed. Went to work today and feel ok except for a little soreness of all places on the other knee(the one that needs replacing). Next time I'll just wait for my wife to get off work and drive her to pick it up in my Ram, much safer.
Wow what a F-ing day. Glad your ok. Now I know not to bicycle in the snow... But you know, people can't see us riding 800lb motorcycles on a clear sunny day. A 20lb bike on a snowy day? Just asking for trouble..lol
