This is a great idea. Its pretty slick.
I used to feed the wiring and cabling through the tubing on flying bridges on high end fishing yachts. It seemed like we had a 2" pipe and 3"s of wires and cables. We used a combination of a cable fish, baby powder, and air pressure. The same strategy works well on bars.

I went +8 on the clutch cable with the adjuster in the center of the cable. If I had to do it again, I'd go +8 with the adjuster about 6" on the clutch side as the middle placement of the adjuster right over the crash bar. It's not really any problem, just a preference.

As for brakeline, I used bulk hose all the way back to the ABS distribution block with ferrel fittings. Harley is now making a new hardline that will take you from the distribution block to under the tank. Again, if I were doing it over, now that this is available, I would use the Harley brakelines. Mine are really nice and clean and work well, but these new hardlines are nice.

+6 on the Clutch and Brake lines. There's plenty of room for the wires without extensions if you route the connectors under the radio instead of up and to the sides of the radio. I had easily 12+ inches of extra FBW wires.

Also went with +6 on the cables/brake lines on my wild1 chubby (wo57) bars. You figure you have to have:
1. Bars 2. brake cables 3. clutch cable 4. Clutch cable gasket and tranny fluid 5. Brake fluid 6. Wire extension kit unless you want to splice and solder. 7. 2 #8 bolts to replace the stock #5's on the bars.
approx. cost 200.00 bars, 70.00 wire extension kit, 240.00 cables (ss but stock would be cheaper and you would only need upper brake line), 4.00 brake fluid, 13.00 tranny fluid, couple dollars for the gasket, couple dollars for the bolts. Well worth the upgrade especially if you have any neck/shoulder or back problems.

10's will still need new lines unless you don't want them going through the fairing. I'd get +4's to be safe.

I cant seem to PM or even see some pictures.

I'm installing my 12" Monkey Bars on my 2008 SE Road King this weekend. I also found it difficult daling with thr baggernation site. I ended up gettingthe bars from phat and the cables from johnny vaughn. Funny, I thought he was very short and cranky through e-mails. I placed my order had a few questions and he took care of everything. Called me right up and seemed to know this stuff right off the top of his head. He is in CA and I'm in RI and the parts were here in 2 days! Bars should be here tomorrow.

Could you please e-mail me the instructions rbileau@***.net Thanks

Maybe a long shot, but MassHD or ssfirefighter, do you guys still have your installation tips/tricks available for email? Got my monkey bars for the street glide & supersize kit through my dealer but no instructions, now the weekend is here & would like to get started.

If you could, please email to ruiner73@hotmail.com

Thanks!
