Default Chrome Wind Deflectors Install

I have an '07 Road King Police Edition with stock windshield, spotlights and turn signals. I've read a ton of posts about the HD Chrome Wind Deflectors and think I will give them a try. Two questions: Do the edges turn forward or backward for my bike? Do they bolt on inside or outside the windshield bolt mounts? Thanks all.

I believe they turn back. You will know because they will hit the engine guard if installed wrong. Don't ask me how I know. I bolted mine outside.

They work well in winter.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it will be evident when I get the wind deflectors. I previously read the installation instructions of the HD site and it seemed clear but then I saw a post or two saying that they mounted differently on touring models and softails. The HD instructions do not differentiate between models. Anyway, thanks again.

Please let us know if the deflector does help. I've been thinking about getting one on my RK, but I'm not too sure if the benefits outweigh the looks!

Same here. I have 2 friends who mounted them on their Ultras and they swear by them. Their looks is what stops me from buying a set. If they were a little more rounded, and if they were sitting closer to the fork tubes, I could make a case for them, but as they are, thanks but I'll pass. By the way, it's strange that nobody offers an alternative. The closest I found (and bought) are the Freedom Wings Plus. They mount on the bottom of the fairing, behind the turn signals and are much shorter. They work but they're probably not as efficient as the ugly chrome fork deflectors.

I have them on my Road King and in the winter they make a huge difference stopping the cold wind. I take them off in the summer.

Default Deflectors

Wife has an 07 flstc and I have an 09 flhtc. Yes, the deflectors face different. Yes they work. We ride all winter, but considering were from Arkansas, and 20 degrees is about as cold as it gets...... Don and Pam

They work well, and just an FYI you have to move the driving lights to the forward hole on the mount or they won't fit. It's a pain, but you can get a socket and notch the side out to work. Also, I just put lowers on my bike and had to remove them, so if anyone wants a good used set let me know.
